Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Image Converter – Save as PNG or JPEG Chrome extension, published by AquilaVT Creative. It describes what data the extension accesses, how it is used, and what is never done with it.

Data Collection

This extension does not collect, store, process, or transmit any personal data or usage data of any kind. This includes but is not limited to:

No browsing history or visited URLs
No image content or metadata
No identifiers, device information, or IP addresses
No usage statistics or analytics
No crash reports or telemetry
No cookies or local storage beyond what the browser itself manages

How the Extension Works

When you right-click an image and select Save as PNG or Save as JPEG, the extension performs the following steps entirely within your browser:

The image is loaded into an HTML5 <canvas> element, converted to the chosen format using the browser's built-in Canvas API, and the resulting file is offered to you via the browser's native download dialog. This process uses the activeTab permission, which grants access only to the tab where you explicitly right-clicked — and only for the duration of that action.

No image data, URLs, or any other information is sent to any external server at any point during this process.

Permissions

The extension requests the following browser permissions. Each is used solely for the purpose described and for nothing else.

contextMenus Adds the "Save as PNG" and "Save as JPEG" entries to the browser's right-click context menu on images.

downloads Opens the browser's native save dialog so you can choose where to store the converted image on your device.

scripting Executes the canvas-based image conversion inside the active tab. Required to access the image element and perform the conversion locally.

activeTab Grants temporary access to the tab where the user explicitly right-clicks an image. Access is limited to that single user-triggered action — the extension has no background access to any tab or website.

Third-Party Services

This extension does not integrate with, communicate with, or depend on any third-party service, API, or server. All code is self-contained within the extension package.

Remote Code

This extension does not load or execute any code from external sources. No scripts are fetched from remote URLs at runtime. All JavaScript is bundled within the extension and reviewed as part of the Chrome Web Store submission process.

Changes to This Policy

Any future changes to this Privacy Policy will be reflected with an updated date at the top of this page and, where applicable, noted in the extension's update changelog on the Chrome Web Store.
